Ok comrades it’s about time we started 2008 around here. Mardi Gras in New Orleans is but a week away so the mp3 club returns from post festive stupor to bring you some great music from the city that care forgot…..

The People’s Republic of Disco aren’t above tackling the big issues, so can we point you in the direction of this petition.

He’s taken to checking out some patois website and starting his show with stuff like “wha’ppen, listeners” and the like. He really needs to be boiled in oil. Tiresome, talentless, unfunny, puerile, offensive little twatmonkey.

So Christmas and New Year are out of the way, the rehab has hopefully started in earnest and the rubble has cleared. The PROD crew can’t begin to thank you all for what seems in many ways the best People’s Republic of Disco ever. The odd technical glitch aside, it was fantastic fun from start to finish (or we thought so, anyway!). Thanks for the drinks, the presents and the hugs, and we hope you had as good a time as we did. We must admit, the odd tear was shed, around the time this photo was taken:

Hey Comrades, the recently somewhat dormant Mp3 club has arisen from its slumber to bring you an early festive treat or two ahead of next saturday’s christmas meltdown. We look forward to seeing you all there dressed as santa, elves, elvis, whatever.

as you may know, the collective behind the People’s Republic of Disco have decided to take PROD back to its guerilla beginnings.

The monthly club night is being folded, in favour of occasional surprise raids on the forces of the megaclub and the superstar DJ. PROD will still be there - biding its time, planning its next move, cropping up when you least expect it.

But after nearly 6 long years of a sustained campaign for discocracy, the Christmas Party on December 22nd marks the end of the regular PROD night.

So we’re going to wrap things up - for now - with a very, very special night.

The People’s Republic of Disco Xmas Party will - in addition to the usual thrills’n’spills - include:

• a live band! (the mighty Who’s Afeared, as seen at Endorse It!)
• a late licence!
• a fantastic gift for the first 100 through the door!
• dressing up, messing about and some hardcore Santa action!

So.

You really don’t want to miss this.

YES, YES, YES comrades, come down and get down

Ahead of next week’s People’s Republic of Disco, the PROD deck proles Ouchmonkey and Dubversion are out and about in their Randy & Earl’s Old Record Club guise this coming Friday (October 19th).

Those intrepid folk from the Blue Light District are staging “I Love You Deptford, Will You Marry Me”, a night of art and music at the Deptford Arms. It starts at 8pm, runs till late and it’s entirely FREE!!!

As the BLD crew have said, “In the basement gallery we have the photographic works of Ann-Marie Mullarkey and Kate Stothert, on stage we have the king of Deptford himself, Mr. Nathan Persad, plus Beans On Toast and Pyepi & Friends all backed up by beautiful disc spinners Randy & Earl’s Old Records Club! There’ll also be films and visuals outside, plus installation work from the ever gorgeous Victoria & Anna!”

see - we’re beautiful, it says so on the intermaweb so it must be true.

With just 84 shopping days till Xmas, the PROD crew are happy to announce a whole new range of merch - ranging from the sexy to the frankly bloody stupid.

A new PA, new lights, lots of new faces and old friends. It obviously all got too much for Comrade Dubversion, who beat everyone to near-catatonic drunkness.

Yes, comrades, our summer of twatting about in the mud is now over and it’s time to get back to the real business. The first People’s Republic of Disco of the autumn is imminent - September 29th, in fact. Both Comrade Ouchmonkey (aka Balloonhead) and Comrade Dubversion will still be milking their recent birthdays for all they’re worth, so be sure to be carrying a few extra quid, to buy them a beer or a cab to the hospital.

Meanwhile, the rest of the year’s PROD dates have been confirmed - October 27th, November 24th and a special PROD Xmas Party on December 22nd, with a later closing time and something a bit special!
